STEP PDQ's are accredited qualifications for fresh graduates and young practitioners, aimed at building global industrial competencies in the area of management. They reflect the industrial skills model (known as National Qualifications Framework in UK), that defines attributes of a practitioner desired by international employers for every level of management.

Further Education Qualifications (FEQ's)

STEP FEQ's are specifically designed to meet academic and vocational needs of O & A Level graduates. FEQ's emphasises upon the capacity development of individual students, preparing them for national and international scenario.

FEQ's are primarily a succession route for students that meet their individual progression needs, whether they are into employment or into further study for British honours degree or professional courses offered by the Chartered Institutes of Marketing, Management, Accountancy and Personnel Development.

British Nationals

British Nationals in Business is practical, work-related course. You focus on a particular subject area and develop a range of specialist skills and knowledge.

Where does 'Nationals' stands in qualification grid?
It is equivalent to three GCE A levels or one Single plus one Double Award VCE.

What is the duration?
Time frame varies for the full and part time studies. Full time mode could be covered within 18-24 months and part time in 24-36 months. However, it also depends upon your pace, the number of units you are willing to take in each semester and also on total number of learners.

What is the mode of study?
You will spend much of your time working on practical assignments, case studies and projects where you apply your creative skills, vital in today's competitive environment of employment sector

What are the Entry Requirements?
You should have at least one of the following:

Six GCSEs/O Levels with at least four at grades A-C.

Pakistani Matriculation with first division with an accredited English Language proficiency certificate (e.g. 5 Band of IELTS)

British Higher Nationals

The British Higher Nationals in Business provides greater depth and specialisation than the British Nationals. It emphasises strongly upon practical skills alongside the development of requisite knowledge and understanding of professional world.

Where does 'Nationals' stands in qualification grid?
It is equivalent to the first two years of a full-time University Honours degree in UK, Pakistan and other countries around the world. Students will be able to complete their Honors degree in just one year after Higher Nationals.

What is the duration?
The course can be completed within 18-24 months as full-time or in 24-36 months as part-time study. However, it also depends on your pace, the number of units you are willing to take in each semester and number of sufficient learners to teach the unit.

What are the Entry Requirements?
You should have at least one of the following:

• Two GCE A Levels.

• Pakistani Intermediate (first division) with an accredited English Language proficiency certificate (e.g. 5.5 Band of IELTS)

What is the Mode of study?
British Higher Nationals in Business are practical, work-related courses. You will be involved in planning your own activities, which are likely to include: Working alone and in groups, spending time out of the classroom and visiting employers & industry, solving problems and meeting deadlines.

About ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), UK:

ACCA (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is one of the prestigious UK qualifications and is equally recognised and compatible with the CA or ACMA in Pakistan. Founded in England since 1904, it is the largest professional accountancy body in the UK and worldwide with over 103,000 qualified members and more than 320,000 students in over 160 countries.

Entry points and exemptions for ACCA in Pakistan:

• Mature Student Entry (MSE) Route for students of 21 years age or older
• 2 A Level plus 3 O Level or equivalent for students of 18 years age or older
• BCom / BSc / BA from recognised institution (3 year BCom (Hons) is exempted part 1 of ACCA)
• MCom or MBA holders (from recognised institution are exempted part 1 of ACCA)
• CAT Introductory & Intermediate (CAT Level A, B & C holders are exempted ACCA part 1)
• MFC (Modular Foundation Course) of ICAP holders (are exempted ACCA part 1)
• Chartered Accountants (are exempted part 1 and papers 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.6 of ACCA)

The duration for completing all ACCA examinations can be a minimum of two years even if no exemption is claimed. All registrations for the June exams should be made before 31st December of the previous year and for December exams, these should be made before 15th August of the same year.

Earning BSc (Hons) and MBA from Oxford Brookes University:
The valuable relationship between ACCA & Oxford Brookes University enables ACCA students to sit for an Oxford Brookes BSc (Hons) degree in Applied Accounting while taking their ACCA examinations and to study for an Oxford Brookes MBA after achieving ACCA membership. STEP counselling department helps all its ACCA students during the whole process from admissions to visas.

About CAT (Certified Accounting Technicians), UK:

CAT (Certified Accounting Technician) is ACCA's vocational, open entry introduction to accounting. Candidates who are 16 years or older can complete it and are eligible for a direct entry to Part 2 of ACCA's professional examinations. There is no formal qualification required to opt by students who are minimum of 16 years age.
